The Scholarship Program provides high school students with financial deservingness, an entrepreneurial attitude, and the opportunity to succeed academically with entrepreneurial scholarships. Recipients of scholarships get assistance and interventions that foster their entrepreneurial abilities and cash for enrollment at top high schools nationwide.
About Allan Gray Orbis Foundation:
To further Allan Gray’s goals of fostering ethical business in Southern Africa, the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation was established back in 2005. The foundation operates in Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, and South Africa.
Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Fellowship 2024:
Through developing their entrepreneurial abilities, individuals are assisted by the Foundation’s Fellowship program in starting profitable firms that will benefit the community. The recipients of the program, referred to as Candidate Allan Gray Fellows, will get guidance in cultivating an entrepreneurial mentality in addition to financial aid for their post-secondary studies. Scholarships from the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation are given to deserving South African students.
The following academic disciplines are eligible to apply for fellowships:
Regarding Grade 12 and First-Year Students:
- Commerce
- Science
- Engineering
- Law
- Humanities
- Arts &
- Health Science
The Fellowship will cover all living expenses, meals, books, and tutoring costs in addition to the total cost of tuition. It will also provide a monthly living allowance, academic support, personal development, entrepreneurial program access, mentorship, and possible postgraduate funding for recently graduated Candidate Fellows.
Allan Gray, the candidate, after completing their studies, fellows will not be obliged to work for the foundation and will not be subject to any obligations. As long as the other suppliers consent, they can look for additional revenue sources from them.

Eastern Cape:
- Rhodes University (RU)
- Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMU)
Free State:
University of the Free State (UFS)
KwaZulu-Natal:
University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN)
Gauteng:
- University of Johannesburg (UJ)
- University of Pretoria (UP)
- University of the Witwatersrand (WITS)
Western Cape:
- University of Cape Town (UCT)
- University of the Western Cape (UWC)
- TSIBA (for only 1st-year intake)
- Stellenbosch University (SU)
Bursary Requirements and Eligibility:
GRADE 12:
- Citizen of South Africa
- For grade 11 final scores, students must receive at least 60% in pure mathematics OR a minimum of 80% in mathematical literacy.
- Final Grade 11 scores must have a minimum average of 70% (not including Life Orientation).
- In the application year, there are less than 21 years old
- to study for the UKZN, RU, UWC, SU, UP, UFS, WITS, UJ, UCT, and NMU.
- Candidates who want to attend the aforementioned partnering institution to pursue post-secondary education in commerce, engineering, law, health science (except veterinary science and dentistry), or humanities.
1ST YEAR UNIVERSITY:
- Citizen of South Africa
- You must receive at least a 65% on your 2023 mid-year test.
- studying at UCT, UWC, Tsiba, SU, RU, NMU, UKZN, UFS, WITS, UP, or UJ at the moment
- Applicants who want to study at the university partnering above for postsecondary education in commerce, science (but not medicine, veterinary science, or dentistry), humanities, engineering, or law are
- under 22 when they submit their application.

Enclose a certified copy of the necessary paperwork listed below with your application:
- Final academic report for grades 10 and 11 in ID document
- Grade 12 most recent academic record, if accessible
- A recent passport-size picture
- Achieved in Grades 10, 11, and 12, academic/extracurricular honors, recognition, and supporting documentation
- The application is in a separate sealed envelope with a stamped and signed educator reference attached.
