The Gauteng Department of Education’s Gauteng City Region Academy (GCRA) aims to advance skill development in the province. This is accomplished by creating career counseling programs, learnerships, internships, bursaries (GCRA Bursary), skills programs, and skills programs. The primary beneficiaries of the GCRA include the corporate community, young people in Gauteng, and government workers in Gauteng.
The GCRA has created an unemployment database to find participants for development initiatives. Departments of the Gauteng Provincial Government, municipalities, government agencies, and the business sector will provide job possibilities. Program selection will be based on interviews and other application processes and outcomes. The goal is to build a knowledgeable, competent, and moral workforce for the South African area.
GCRA Bursary 2024:
Students who wish to continue their education but cannot pay for it can apply for financial aid from GCRA.
The Gauteng province’s undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in postgraduate programs are the target audience for the GCRA bursary program. Any academic discipline is open to students. They can apply for bursary assistance if they fulfill the qualifying standards (explained in the following section).
Once awarded, the scholarship will cover the following expenditures (as per the bursary contract):
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees
- Accommodation cost
- Books
