About Cape Peninsula University of Technology:
Education Minister Kader Asmal launched the National Plan for Higher Education in March 2001. The amalgamation of many institutions across South Africa led to the establishing of institutions of Technology. The Minister authorized rebranding and creating merger task teams before approving the Cape Peninsula University of Technology’s name in 2003. This university is the only university of Technology in the Western Cape and the biggest in the region, with over 30,000 students, many campuses and service centers, and over 70 programs.
They strive to provide at least 7,800 students with a place to stay each night during the academic year in their warm and inviting CPUT residences. After all, their children need a cozy place to unwind after a demanding day. CPUT aspires to enhance quality, comfort, and security while maintaining an almost uniform feel throughout all of our homes for the benefit of our students. To provide students with a cozy, homelike environment, they provide amenities, common spaces, and single and shared lodgings.
More than merely obtaining a degree is the goal of studying at CPUT; other goals include developing personally and having a fulfilling time as a student. To help students achieve a healthy student life, Student Affairs offers a wide selection of extracurricular activities, most free. These activities will enhance your experience as a student at the CPUT.
